An interesting fact about the lemon is that its plant, originally from Southeast Asia, was introduced to Europe during Roman times but became truly popular only in the Middle Ages thanks to Arab traders. Lemons were used not only for their flavor and aroma but also as symbols of wealth and prestige. In the past, having lemon trees in one's garden was a sign of luxury and elegance. Additionally, lemons were often depicted in paintings and artworks as symbols of purity and fertility.
