The chilli pepper is an expression of the true tradition of the land of Calabria. The choice of Calabria is no coincidence: the CREA (Council for Agricultural and Rural Research), through the "PEPIC" project dedicated to the cultivation of chilli peppers, has shown how the specific characteristics of the Calabrian soil and climate are able to guarantee the absolute uniqueness of the chilli peppers produced in this land.
The history of Cervia's sweet salt with chilli peppers
Cervia Sweet Salt with Chilli Peppers is the result of a collaboration between the Cervia Salt Works, Chef Domenico Magnifico and the "Tonino Guerra" Hotel School in Cervia. The blend of chilli peppers is made up of the Diamante "diavolicchio", which gives the salt its particular colour and aroma, and the Amantea "ferretto", a round chilli pepper that gives the salt a lively, slightly explosive flavour.
This specially created blend does not attack the palate by masking the flavours, but enhances them.
Particularly suitable for seasoning white meats, grilled fish, raw and cooked vegetables.
