Macchialupa

Typical Campania DOC and DOCG wines

The Macchialupa winery is located in a place where there is a solemn and mysterious silence, even during the day, and a healthy climate: dry in winter, cool and breezy in summer.

The winery was founded in 2001 as a result of the love of an oenologist for Fiano di Avellino and Aglianico di Taurasi and the passion of an agronomist for Greco di Tufo.

The Valle del Sabato, on the border between the provinces of Avellino and Benevento, is a typically hilly area with wide valleys and high ridges.

It is on these ridges, at an altitude of about 450 metres above sea level, that the well-prepared soil is suitable for the cultivation of the Greco grape variety, which has a millenary origin: the Aminea Gemina, ancestor of the Greco di Tufo, was imported from Thessaly before the Christian era.

Other expert winemakers, in love with Fiano and Aglianico, have contributed to the production of these fine wines, which reflect the warmth of the south and the love for a land rich in tradition and oenological culture.
