Tart with organic clementine jam

Tart with organic clementine jam is a simple and tasty dessert, perfect for breakfast or a snack. It requires few ingredients and is rather quick to make.

The artisanal product used to prepare it is organic extra clementine jam. It is a product with a low sugar content and contains no gluten, preservatives or artificial colouring. The clementine also has a sweet taste, making the tart delicious and pleasant to the taste.

What ingredients should be bought to make the tart?

The ingredients needed to make a tart with organic clementine jam for 4 people are as follows:

250 grams of flour

125 grams of cold cubed butter

100 grams of sugar

1 egg

Grated rind of an organic orange

A pinch of salt

In addition to the ingredients listed above, you will also need a tart tin and baking paper to line it.


Preparation of the base:

In a bowl, sift the flour and add the cold cubed butter.

Using your hands, rub the butter into the flour until you obtain a sandy mixture.

Add the sugar, the grated rind of an organic orange and a pinch of salt and mix well.

Add the egg and knead the dough until smooth.

Form a ball with the dough, wrap it in cling film and place in the refrigerator to rest for at least 30 minutes.


Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Take the dough for the base from the fridge and divide it into two parts, a larger one for the base and a smaller one for the topping.       

Roll out the larger part of the dough on a lightly floured surface to an even thickness.

Line a tart tin with baking paper and gently transfer the sheet of dough onto the tin.

Pour the organic clementine jam onto the base of the tart, you can use a spoon to facilitate this.

Roll out the smallest part of the dough and cut it into strips or slices to decorate the surface of the tart. You can also leave the tart without the topping if you prefer.   

Put the tart in the preheated oven and bake it for about 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.           

Once cooked, take the tart out of the oven, and let it cool completely before serving.
