Le ghiottonerie di casa Lorena

Production of 0 km jams and marmalades and baked goods, such as flavoured tarallini

Le Ghiottonerie di Casa Lorena was established in 2013 as a food production workshop, in a property confiscated from the Camorra in Casal di Principe, for the employment of women in particularly difficult circumstances who have freed themselves from violence.

Lorena, a women's house against violence, and the Ghiottonerie di Casa Lorena are a unique and far-sighted experience, a virtuous model of support for the autonomy and job placement of women on their way out of violence.

Despite the severe difficulties of the context in which it operates and produces, the territory has not hindered the 'Le Ghiottonerie di Casa Lorena' project, which has managed to integrate and grow thanks to a network of supporters made up of various public and private institutions that have decided to make their own contribution in recognition and support of the initiative.

The co-ordinator of 'Le Ghiottonerie di Casa Lorena' confides: 'we have set up a zero-kilometre supply chain, we have tried to make the most of the retailers in our area, who have supported the project by giving us everything... supporting the Anti-Violence Centre would not have been easy and can be frightening, but supporting the Workshop... is easier'.
