Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Lemon
Sorrento Hills extra virgin olive oil infused with lemon peel is a high quality product, the result of the encounter between the excellence of extra virgin olive oil and the freshness of the citrus fruits typical of the Sorrento coast. Obtained from the cold pressing of hand-picked olives, this oil is naturally flavoured with lemons grown in the same lands, giving the final product a balanced and refined flavour. On the palate, there is a pleasant harmony between the fruity notes of the oil and the fresh, citrus character of the lemon, which lends a touch of liveliness without overpowering the original flavour of the oil.
Extra virgin olive oil, lemon peel infusion
The citrus fruits from the gardens of the Colline Lubrensi are processed within 12 hours of harvesting and the entire seasoning cycle lasts no less than 72 hours, giving the oil all the fragrances and flavours of the renowned Sorrento lemons. These lemons are, in fact, a highly prized variety of lemon cultivated on the Sorrento peninsula, particularly in the areas of Massa Lubrense, Vico Equense and Sorrento. This variety is known for its particularly thick peel, rich in essential oils, which gives it an intense and unmistakable aroma.
The lemons are still cultivated in the traditional way. The lemon groves are often protected with ‘pagliarelle’, structures made of woven reeds that create a kind of natural cover. This method protects the fruit from strong winds and excessive sun, creating an ideal microclimate for the lemons to grow.
This oil is perfect for seasoning fish dishes, fresh salads, white meats or to enhance the flavour of grilled vegetables, its unique taste is typical of the gastronomic traditions of the coast.
